Chinese citizens are not permitted to talk about what happened in and around Tiananmen Square 30 years ago

When the Chinese Communist Party

Deployed the people's Liberation Army

Against the Chinese

Unarmed protesters many of them students

Out of that drama we get the image of Tank Man

With which I'm sure you're all familiar

And while it is an iconic image of portraying

The events of June 4th in a certain sense

It is also perhaps

I'm a useful image for the Communist Party Zone narrative

Reason I say that is and that image the street is tidy

The tanks will inevitably overcome Tank Man

His resistance is seemingly futile

And most importantly it distracts

From the blood

The shock
